Ann Daan has been an inspired project by GD Goenka World School students for the last 2 IB generations and it’s our turn now. We aim to collect as much product as possible, we’re collecting non-perishable food items such as rice, lentils, flour, sugar, salt, labelled canned foods, tea bags, coffee grounds, peanut butter, grains, dried foods, etc. The donated goods will go to a local UN-established foundation, United Nations World Food Program.
The United Nations World Food Programme (UNWFP) is an international organization that works to provide food and nutrition assistance to people in need around the world. It was established in 1961 and is the largest humanitarian organization in the world. The UNWFP works to feed the hungry, reduce poverty, and promote food security. It provides assistance to over 80 million people in more than 80 countries every year. It works closely with governments, civil society, and the private sector to create sustainable, effective solutions to hunger. The UNWFP is committed to ending hunger and creating a future of food security for all.
